Job Title: Blasting Technician – Special Process Department
Location: Charlotte, NC
Pay Rate: $20.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Assignment Type: Temp-to-Perm

We’re hiring a Blasting Technician to support our Special Process Department, where you’ll play a key role in surface preparation and part processing for high-end industrial and aerospace components. If you have at least 1 year of blasting experience and are ready to take on a hands-on, safety-focused role, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate manual, walk-in, and automatic blasting machines

Perform grit blasting and shot peening of metal components

Assist in loading/unloading parts, using forklifts or cranes as needed

Operate floor scrubbers and complete general housekeeping

Maintain a clean and organized work area

Transport components between workstations

Perform preventative maintenance and document records and logs

Replenish consumables like blast media, nozzles, and PPE

Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and assist in repairs

Retrieve, stage, and return tools, fixtures, and processed parts

Adhere to JHAs and all safety procedures, including PPE use

Assist in setup and processing operations under minimal supervision

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

At least 1 year of blasting experience with various metal media

Ability to read and interpret basic shop math, instructions, and blueprints

Must pass an Industrial Reading Test and Shop Math Test (70% or better)

Forklift experience or willingness to become certified

Comfortable working around fumes, chemicals, high temperatures, and in respirator-required environments

Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs with support equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with maintenance of blast equipment (daily/weekly/monthly PMs)

Ability to train others in blasting techniques

Familiarity with coatings, water jet media, and surface treatments

Background in aerospace, defense, or industrial part finishing

Pay Details: $20.00 per hour
