Essential Responsibilities:
Lead blast preparation and loading to keep production on scheduleDirect the blast crew to execute safe, efficient, on-time blastsLoad, tie-in, and fire patterns to plan for consistent fragmentation and diggabilityTrack blast results and production outcomesManage magazines and materials to support continuous operationsOperate safely and work independently with minimal supervisionQualifications:
Valid Newfoundland & Labrador Blaster’s Certificate or eligible to work towards obtainingExperience blasting in surface mining or quarry operationsStrong knowledge of blast loading, tie-ins, and initiation systems or a willingness to learnAbility to read and execute blast plans and loading instructionsProduction-focused, safety-driven, and able to work independentlyStrong commitment to safety and safe work practicesAbility to work rotations, shifts, and overtimeValid driver’s license and driver’s abstractAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on uneven terrainSuccessful completion of pre-access drug and alcohol testingAbility to work up to 12 hour rotating day/night shifts in all weather conditionsWork Conditions:

$38.00 - $40.32 per hourThis is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
