BlackLine Consultant (Interim / Project-Based)
Engagement Overview
We are seeking an experienced BlackLine Consultant to provide temporary, hands-on support to accelerate improvements within our BlackLine environment. This role will partner closely with Accounting leadership to modernize balance sheet reconciliations, standardize processes, and help move the team away from legacy practices during a critical transformation phase.
This engagement is highly visible, with direct alignment to CFO-sponsored priorities.
Key Objectives
Rapidly stabilize and enhance our BlackLine foundation
Modernize balance sheet reconciliation processes
Introduce standardized templates and best practices
Provide change leadership and execution support while internal teams face bandwidth constraints
Key Responsibilities
BlackLine Process & Foundation Enhancement
Assess current BlackLine configuration, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting documentation
Lead the revamp of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness
Design and implement standardized reconciliation templates aligned with BlackLine and accounting best practices
Strengthen foundational setup, including controls, policies, and documentation standards
Execution & Acceleration Support
Serve as hands-on execution support to accelerate progress where internal teams lack bandwidth
Work through reconciliation backlogs and exception items efficiently
Partner with Accounting and Finance stakeholders to prioritize high-impact improvements
Change Enablement
Help guide the team away from legacy processes and promote adoption of modern, standardized workflows
Act as a trusted advisor and change agent, reinforcing BlackLine best practices
Translate complex BlackLine concepts into practical, easy-to-adopt solutions
Stakeholder & Leadership Collaboration
Collaborate closely with Controllers, Accounting Managers, and Finance leadership
Support CFO-driven initiatives by providing structure, clarity, and momentum
Communicate progress, risks, and recommendations clearly and professionally
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
Proven experience as a BlackLine Consultant, Power User, or Implementation Specialist
Strong understanding of balance sheet reconciliations and close processes
Hands-on experience designing and standardizing reconciliation templates in BlackLine
Background in Accounting, Finance, or BlackLine advisory/consulting roles
Ability to operate in environments with limited documentation and heavy legacy processes
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting organizations during transformation, cleanup, or post-implementation phases
Prior exposure to high-visibility, CFO-sponsored projects
Strong change management mindset with a practical, execution-focused approach

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Deerfield Beach, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80.00 - $100.00/hr.
