Here you are supported, here you are celebrated, here you can thrive. **Your New Role...** The Broadcast & IT Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining advanced broadcast and IT systems within a live production environment. This role requires strong technical expertise in both traditional broadcast technologies and modern IT/IP-based infrastructures. The ability to work with Commercial Off-The-Shelf hardware and software and implement solutions to production needs is required. The engineer will play a key role in maintaining critical production systems, supporting live and recorded programming, and ensuring the seamless integration of broadcast and IT workflows. This position involves collaboration across production, IT, engineering, and vendor teams to troubleshoot issues, design and implement system upgrades, and ensure operational excellence. The Broadcast & IT Systems Engineer is also expected to contribute to project execution, provide mentorship to associate engineers, and deliver exceptional customer service in a 24/7 production environment. **Your Role Accountabilities...** + Provide advanced technical support for live production facilities, including field production and homes studios. + Review, resolve, and document tickets with accurate resolution notes using ITSM tools. + Understand user workflows to ensure effective troubleshooting and minimal production disruption. + Act as a subject matter expert in at least one broadcast or IT technology domain. + Perform repair, calibration, and installation of broadcast and IT equipment in control rooms, studios, PCRs, IDFs and data centers. + Maintain supporting infrastructure such as A/V routers, RF/fiber transmission, signal processing gear, tally, and IPTV systems. + Support (field cameras, mixers, microphones, lights, etc.) that may need easy replacements. + Support Newsgathering teams, Digital teams, Tech Operations technical needs. + Oversee the full lifecycle of hardware assets, from procurement and deployment to maintenance and decommissioning. + Participate in the design, installation, and integration of broadcast, IT, and IP-based production systems. + Document quality standards, operational procedures, system designs, and project work using AutoCAD and other documentation tools. + Ensure sufficient inventory of parts and supplies, coordinating with procurement and asset management teams. + Anticipate challenges, identify process improvements, and propose proactive solutions. + Mentor and guide associate engineers, sharing technical knowledge and best practices. + Execute project tasks with independence while contributing to team collaboration and knowledge-sharing. **Qualifications & Experiences...** + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience). + 3-7 years of experience in broadcast engineering, live production environments, or IT systems engineering, with a focus on hybrid broadcast/IT infrastructures. + Proficiency in interpreting and applying AutoCAD drawings for system design and troubleshooting. + Strong knowledge of IP-based broadcast equipment and standards, including SMPTE ST 2110 and related technologies. + Hands-on expertise with video/audio transport systems, including encoders, decoders, transcoders, and related workflows. + Solid understanding of remote and cloud-enabled production workflows, including contribution, distribution, and virtualization. + Previous experience with news live productions is a strong plus. + Demonstrated ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, with strong written and verbal communication skills. **How We Get Things Done…** This last bit is probably the most important! Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $74,911.00 - $139,121.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
