Bioprocess Technician
Job Title: Bioprocess TechnicianJob Description The Bioprocess Technician is integral to the production of cultivated meat, interfacing with automated production and bioprocess systems and controls. This role involves operating production equipment, including equipment preparation, culture growth, media/buffer preparation, process monitoring, sampling, and harvesting, all within a regulated environment focused on safety, quality, and efficiency. Responsibilities + Operate bioprocess equipment for cell culture operations, from cell bank thaw through harvest. + Prepare media and buffer solutions for the production process. + Clean, assemble, and sterilize equipment. + Comply with safety requirements, adhering to standard operating procedures, batch records, and good documentation practices. + Partner with coworkers and supervisors to troubleshoot equipment and process issues effectively. Essential Skills + Proficiency in bioprocess operations and cell culture techniques. + Understanding of GMP and troubleshooting procedures. + Basic understanding of cell culture processes, equipment setup, aseptic technique, and sterilization operations. Additional Skills & Qualifications + B.A. or B.S. degree in Life Sciences preferred, or equivalent experience in a bioprocess manufacturing environment or other regulated industry. + Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures and interact with process automation systems for routine work. + Experience with creating and maintaining manufacturing operations documentation (SOPs, batch records) is a plus. + Experience interacting with ERP and/or Quality Management systems is a plus. Work Environment The role is located onsite four days a week at the Emeryville, CA facility, with a preference for swing shift. This position requires working evening/night hours and weekends, as needed. The grave shift schedule is Wednesday to Saturday, from 10pm to 8:30am, with a 15% shift differential applicable once in grave shift. Training ramp is expected to be 2-3 months during the day shift. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
