Job Summary

Summary

Responsible for inspecting, calibrating, testing, and repairing medical electronic equipment, and do so by using a variety of tools and computer applications.

Essential Functions

-Perform scheduled maintenance inspections and performance assurance inspections on specialized electronic equipment to ensure safe and effective operating conditions.

-Test and calibrate components using a variety of manuals, troubleshooting techniques, and code requirements.

-Ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies.

-Ensure documentation is complete, timely, and accurate.

-Repair and replace complex biomedical electronic equipment and systems.

-Install and adjust a variety of electronic biomedical and research equipment.

-Diagnose equipment malfunctions with accuracy and precision.

-Function as the senior technologist to provide guidance and mentorship to other BMETs.


 

Qualifications

Education
Associate's Degree Biomedical Engineering required

Licenses and Credentials
Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred MGH Security RMV Check/Registry of Motor Vehicles Driving Report - MGB Internal preferred

Experience
Biomedical Engineering Technology Experience 5-7 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to interpret technical data like electronic circuit diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
- Ability to solve technical and performance problems using information from a variety of sources.
- Working knowledge of technical requirements, codes, and standards associated with the field.
- Display strong leadership and communication skills to clearly guide peers.
- Possess a high level of technical expertise in biomedical equipment and specialty electronic equipment to analyze and problem solve complex issues.

QUALIFICATIONS: - AS in Biomedical Equipment Technology or equivalent level of education or experience. - One to two years related experience preferred. - Must have competence in repair of mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic, and/or computer medical technology to sufficiently diagnose and repair medical devices and systems.
