Biomedical Equipment Technician II
Job Description Key Responsibilities Conduct technical inspections on new, used, or refurbished medical equipment. Perform repairs on damaged medical devices. Overhaul and restore medical equipment to full functionality. Utilize authorized Army automation systems, including Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS), Standard Army Maintenance System-Enhanced (SAMS-E), Theater Enterprise-Wide Logistics System (TEWLS), Global Combat Support System (GCSS), and other systems approved by USAMMA M3D. Apply training and expertise to inspect, repair, calibrate, and overhaul medical equipment. Carry out calibration and preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS). Skills and Requirements Required Skills and Knowledge Strong understanding of maintenance processes: inspections, repairs, calibrations/PMCS, and equipment overhauls. Excellent communication and time management abilities. Minimum Qualifications Completion of the DoD Medical Equipment Repairers Course, or certification through the International Certification Commission (CBET), or an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Medical Equipment Technology. At least three (3) years of experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET). Ability to pass a background check, NACI investigation, and obtain a CAC. Ability to pass an NCIC investigation and credit check per federal and contractual standards. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience working with the Department of Defense.
