PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair dialysis machines, ancillary equipment, and water treatment systems.
Perform plant maintenance and ensure vendor services are completed per contract.
Manage service parts and medical supply inventory, including ordering, receiving, and transport between clinics.
Collect, test, and analyze water/dialysate samples; perform trend analysis to ensure system compliance and safety.
Document all repairs, maintenance, and technical activities accurately.
Assist with planning and installation of biomedical equipment to ensure safe and effective operation.
Provide training and verify staff competency in water system testing and documentation.
Support regulatory and OSHA compliance; participate in technical and compliance meetings.
Complete required technical training and certifications.
Provide scheduled after-hours/on-call technical coverage as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license (state of residence)
Completion of Fresenius Biomedical Technician training within 24 months of hire
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and move large/bulky equipment safely (with required tools)
Comfortable with frequent bending, walking, and standing for long periods
Manual dexterity; able to use hand tools and small power equipment
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts
Ability to work in environments with chemicals, infectious materials, and high-voltage equipment (PPE provided)
Ishihara Color Blindness Test required (accommodations considered if not passed)
Must pass/maintain drug-free workplace requirements
Background in mechanical, automotive, construction, dialysis, or other technical/medical settings
Collaborative, independent, analytical, self-motivated, mechanically inclined
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Desire to keep learning and growing in the role
About this role:
As a Biomedical Technician with Fresenius Medical Care, you will maintain and repair medical and water treatment equipment within our kidney care clinics. You will also train and educate colleagues on operational maintenance of our dialysis machines to ensure the safety of our dialysis patients, as well as manage the medical supplies required. No prior experience is required — comprehensive training will be provided. The rate of pay for this position will depend on the successful candidate’s work location and qualifications, including relevant education, work experience, skills, and competencies.
Hourly Rate: $22.00 - $36.00
