**Job Description** **UW Medical Center-Montlake–** **Clinical Engineering** has an outstanding opportunity for a **Biomedical Electronics Technician 1.** **WORK SCHEDULE** · 40 hours per week · Day Shift **POSITION HIGHLIGHTS** Biomedical Equipment Technician 1 receives on-the-job training while performing entry-level biomedical equipment support functions including troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, installing, calibrating, and testing a variety of biomedical instruments, apparatus, systems and equipment . **PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** · Assist senior technicians with inspecting and installing medical and related technical equipment in medical and research facilities · Learn to properly service multiple specific types of equipment and apparatus such as patient monitors, electrocardiographs, blood gas analyzers, x-ray units, defibrillators, electrosurgical units, anesthesia apparatus, pacemakers, blood pressure transducers, spirometers, sterilizers, diathermy equipment and other related technical equipment · Learn to repair, calibrate, and maintain specific types of medical equipment and how to properly maintain required documentation · Learn to effectively communicate with customers keeping them fully informed of the status of repairs · Learn to properly safety test medical equipment to ensure patient and staff safety with regard to electrical or mechanical hazards · Learn to consult with medical or research staff to ascertain that the equipment functions properly and safely **REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS** An Associate’s Degree in Electronics, Biomedical Equipment Technology or related field.
