Job Description

Purpose

Describe the primary goals, objectives or functions or outputs of this position.

Coordinate and distribute work in assigned area. Establish priorities, to optimize the equipment turnaround including the coordination of maintenance activities. Oversee the manufacturing operation to ensure full GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) compliance. Request materials and adjust inventories needed for production.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and monitor shift change, work schedule, and tasks of biological operators to ensure that the production runs according to plan and within the parameters and compliance.Drive the shift-start process to guarantee process vulnerabilities are identified and discuss accordingly.Monitor equipment performance and processes through computerized systems and visual inspection. Recognize when the parameters of the process are diverted to raise and take prompt action.Coordinate equipment and facility cleaning activities, sampling, and in-process test.Request work orders and coordinate the repair and maintenance of equipment. Document the status of the production processes and equipment maintenance.Perform required inventory transactions. Monitor materials utilization to optimize usage and reduce waste. Responsible to adjust inventories and material request quantities.Ensure the correct disposal of products and materials that fail specifications according to procedures.Coordinate and prepare equipment, take samples of equipment at various times of the process, and perform laboratory tests as required.Strict adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and accurately complete process-associated documentation.Provide assistance to operations in accordance with environmental management, occupational health and safety (EHS) systems and promote continuous improvement. Comply with all EHS procedures and policies including incident reporting, use of PPE, waste management and disposal, and any other program applicable according to the position duties..
Qualifications

Qualifications

List required and preferred qualifications (up to 10). Include education, skills and experience.

Associate Degree in Science, Mechanics, Electricity, Instrumentation or related field.Five (5) years of experience as a Biologic Operator II or similar position in the biotechnology industry. Or three (3) years of experience as a Biologic Operator III (preferred).Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques.Skilled in computerized systems such as Delta V, MES and SAP.Basic mechanical and mathematical skills.Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.Ability to lead work groups.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities with a minimum degree of supervision.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
