As a Bioinformatics Scientist, you will be primarily involved in partnership with key projects between Illumina and partner organization/customers to enable the deployment of informatics/software infrastructure and solutions to advance the use of genomics in Japan. Those solutions will be to enable the data processing, storage, tracking, and management of genomic data. The role will require both strong familiarity with software/informatics systems in the genomics space and the ability to act as an interface between external parties, Illumina Japan and the broader Illumina organization.

Ensure that projects involving software/architecture systems meet the required goalsCreate and reviewing documents on solution and system design and usageResearch, development, implementation operation and management of software informatics systems as part of project deliveryEnsuring necessary security requirements for required solution(s) are metWork in close collaboration with Illumina colleagues in Japan, AMEA and globally to meet the solution goals.Prototype new workflow configurations and solutions in concert with the end-user.Handle problem recognition, analysis, resolution, and follow up for complex problems.Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors, partners and customers.Identify customer needs and propose solutions to customersListed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position. Native-level Japanese language proficiency required.
