Job Title: Biodiversity Manager

 

Position in the Organization Chart Reports to the Biodiversity and Environment Manager Direct reports: Biodiversity Coordinator and Biodiversity Officer (office-based) Functional reports: Up to six (6) Field Biodiversity Officer positions Job Dimension Person choosen will have to move as Residential position based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea Budget managed at the level of the Biodiversity Programs HSE & Personal Statement

At all times the Job Holder will:

Demonstrate personal commitment to the HSSE Policy Maintain awareness of and ensure compliance with all relevant Statutory and Company HSE standards Actively participate in Company safety awareness and initiative schemes Activities Lead development and implementation of the Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services Action Plan (BESAP) Design and oversee biodiversity restoration and offset programs Coordinate ecological surveys and long-term biodiversity monitoring Engage with communities, government, NGOs, and stakeholders (including FPIC implementation) Ensure compliance with national regulations and international lender requirements Align biodiversity programs with IFC PS6 and French oil and gas company standards Manage biodiversity-related data, reporting, and documentation Provide input to Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) Support capacity building and training on biodiversity conservation Context & Environment Strategic importance for TotalEnergies’ LNG operations in PNG Sensitive and challenging environment (project, country, security, partnerships) High challenges in Communities, Social & Economic development, Biodiversity, and Environment Supports a major LNG project financed by IFC and World Bank Subject to IFC Performance Standards, especially PS6 Goal: Achieve measurable Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) Accountabilities Ensure compliance with IFC PS6 Identify gaps and prepare action plans Lead and develop a growing team Required Qualifications/Experience Advanced degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Conservation Biology, or related field Minimum 10 years of experience in biodiversity management (preferably in large infrastructure or extractive industries) Experience with IFC PS6 and biodiversity offset design/implementation Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills Experience in PNG or similar ecological/cultural contexts is highly desirable
