Billing Specialist
Job Title: Billing SpecialistJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Billing Specialist to work closely with Project Managers in generating accurate client billings. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing AIA billing documents to accurately reflect project progress and costs. Additionally, you will collaborate with project managers to establish billing schedules and deadlines, ensuring timely submission of payment applications.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review AIA billing documents to accurately reflect project progress and costs.Collaborate with project managers to establish billing schedules and deadlines.Maintain organized records of all billing-related documents, including change orders, contracts, and lien waivers.Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and project managers to resolve billing inquiries, discrepancies, and change requests.Process customer payments timely and contact customers to discuss overdue payments and update account status.Locate customers using appropriate resources and process payments and refunds.Call customers to resolve billing and credit issues.Take actions to encourage timely payments and reduce accounts receivable balances.Lead or participate in cross-functional projects to streamline processes and increase accuracy and efficiency.Establish and enforce accounting policies and procedures, ensuring proper internal controls exist.Assist with special projects, billing/collection research, and ad hoc analysis as needed.Essential Skills3+ years of Construction Billing experience2+ years of AIA billing experience2+ years of Customer Reconciliation ExperienceSystem experience with Coins (K2A would be a plus)Billing, construction billing, invoicing, accounts receivableAdditional Skills & QualificationsAssociates/Bachelor's Degree in AccountingKnowledge of T&M (Time and Materials Billing)Understanding of GMP (Guaranteed Maximum Price) associated with contractsWork Environment

This position offers the flexibility to work 100% remote. If you are local to MN, you have the option to spend some time in St. Paul. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Paul, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
