Billing Specialist
Job Title: Billing SpecialistJob Description

The Billing Specialist will be responsible for generating, reviewing, and processing invoices accurately and on time. The role requires ensuring compliance with company policies, contracts, and regulatory requirements, as well as investigating and resolving billing discrepancies and customer inquiries. The specialist will maintain and update customer billing records and prepare and distribute billing drafts for management review. Collaboration with Operations, Collections, Contracting/Budgeting, and Customer Service teams to resolve billing concerns is essential.

ResponsibilitiesGenerate, review, and process invoices accurately and on time.Ensure compliance with company policies, contracts, and regulatory requirements.Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries.Maintain and update customer billing records.Prepare and distribute billing drafts for management review.Collaborate with Operations, Collections, Contracting/Budgeting, and Customer Service teams to resolve billing concerns.
Essential Skills1-3 years of experience in non-medical billing and customer account maintenance.Strong understanding of accounting principles and billing.Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel (formulas and pivot tables are a plus).Strong computer skills and tech-savvy.Strong communication skills with internal and external partners/clients.Ability to meet tight deadlines.Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred but not required).
Additional Skills & QualificationsAttention to detail and strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy.Problem-solving skills to quickly identify and resolve billing issues.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Ability to handle sensitive financial and customer information with discretion.
Work Environment

The position requires working onsite for 5 days a week, with an 8-hour workday and a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Employees can choose between a 9-5 or 8-4 schedule, as long as it is consistent. The office features pit-style cubicles, so comfort with working in an open environment is necessary. Free parking is available for employees at a garage next to the office, and the location is three blocks from the Bethesda Metro. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethesda, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
