Job Description:
Provide leadership and drive best practices supporting the billing team. Manage and oversee daily operations of the billing function, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies. Lead and mentor GMP billing specialists and collaborate with project managers and corporate accounting to ensure accurate invoicing and billing support.
Responsibilities:
+ Manage and oversee daily operations of the billing function, assigning work across the team.
+ Monitor and analyze accounting data to ensure billing support is complete and accurate.
+ Lead, mentor, and guide GMP billing specialists to ensure adherence to contract terms.
+ Collaborate with project managers to prepare, adjust, and verify pre-bill documents before invoicing.
+ Prepare timely and accurate AIA progress and other billings, and enter data accurately into systems.
+ Collaborate with corporate accounting to obtain necessary information to support billings.
+ Deliver outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.
+ Assist with contract preparation, review, pre-qualifications, and change orders.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer issues and act as an escalation point.
+ Prepare conditional and unconditional waivers.
+ Assist with special projects, billing/collection research, and ad hoc analysis.
+ Ensure all billing processes comply with accounting standards, contractual obligations, and legal requirements.
+ Conduct thorough billing audits to verify compliance with contract guidelines.
Qualifications:
+ 3+ years of Construction Billing Manager experience.
+ 6+ years of overall construction billing experience, including GMP billing.
+ 6+ years of AIA billing experience.
+ 3+ years of GMP billing experience with complex billings and cost plus.
+ Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and v-lookups.
+ Preferred experience with ERP systems.
Work Environment:
The role offers a flexible hybrid work schedule, with the expectation to be in the office one day a week, and additional flexibility as needed. The candidate will lead a team that works remotely across various states. Office locations include St. Paul, MN; Phoenix, AZ; Bowie, MD; Las Vegas, NV, and more.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $48.00/hr.
