Job Title: Billing Clerk

Job Description

The Billing Clerk plays a key role in the revenue cycle by ensuring that services are billed accurately, timely, and in compliance with internal policies. This position offers an excellent opportunity to build billing and finance experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills are highly valued. You will support internal teams, help maintain smooth business operations, and contribute directly to the organization’s financial performance.

Responsibilities

Process multiple sales orders based on services and deliveries provided to customers, ensuring all billable items are captured accurately.Reconcile service orders to confirm that only billing-eligible services are invoiced and that invoices are generated accurately and on time.Review adjustment requests and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with policies and proper authorization before processing credits or manual bills.Compile, review, validate, and reconcile third-party vendor invoices for accuracy in preparation for invoicing and submission to accounts payable for payment.Execute system jobs that process daily and monthly revenue-generating sales activities, including the electronic submission of completed jobs to an external print company.Use an electronic case management system to collaborate with internal business partners in areas such as charge description master (CDM), collections, operations, and sales to correct inventory, billing, and credit-related issues.Monitor pending workload consistently to ensure all deadlines are met and address time constraints proactively to produce invoices in a timely manner.Investigate and resolve billing orders that fail to process correctly through the system, identifying root causes and implementing appropriate solutions.Maintain accurate records of billing activities and documentation to support audits, reporting, and internal controls.Communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders to clarify billing issues, resolve discrepancies, and provide status updates on outstanding items.

Essential Skills

Minimum of one year of experience in billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, finance, or an administrative role.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.Ability to type a minimum of 45 words per minute.Experience utilizing an ERP or billing software.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret business documents, procedures, and regulations.Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.Confidence working with numbers, including percentages, ratios, and basic calculations.High attention to detail with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.Customer-focused mindset with a desire to provide excellent service and go above and beyond.Ability to work independently while also thriving in a team-oriented environment.Flexibility to support overtime when business needs require.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Prior experience with billing systems, invoice processing, and resolving invoice issues.Back ground in accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable, or general accounting.Experience with reconciliation of invoices and inventory-related transactions.Familiarity with credit processing and credit-related issue resolution.Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.Interest in developing a long-term career in billing, finance, or accounting.Motivation to leverage training resources and continuous learning opportunities to enhance skills.

Work Environment

This role is based onsite Monday through Friday at a corporate headquarters in Stuart, Florida. The position operates in a professional office environment with regular use of computers, ERP or billing systems, Microsoft Office applications, and electronic case management tools. You will work closely with internal teams such as collections, operations, and sales in a collaborative setting. The schedule follows standard weekday business hours, with occasional overtime when needed to meet business deadlines. The organization provides hands-on, on-the-job training to support your success from day one. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Stuart, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr.
