Billing Analyst
Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Description

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will maintain internal contacts with various departments to resolve billing and work order accounting issues. The role involves coordinating communications with government and commercial customers to ensure timely payment of invoices and managing cash inflows effectively.

Responsibilities

Provide support for compliance reviews, audits, and special studies as requested.Ensure invoices are accurate, timely, and in accordance with contract terms.Manage the accounts receivable cycle and support daily, weekly, and monthly accounting functions.Assist with special projects and perform all billing functions, including preparation, review, and submission of invoices.Review and maintain contract terms and conditions for customer invoices.Reconcile assigned billings to the Accounts Receivable general ledger accounts.Identify and implement process and procedure changes for improved efficiency.Maintain and update approved billing rates and dry docking days.Monitor billing cycles and accounts receivable aging; work with customers to shorten cycle times and collect outstanding invoices.Assist managers, accounting staff, and auditors in researching accounting and billing issues.Maintain project booked to billed reconciliations.Review all contracts to ensure compliance in billings.Coordinate and review all accounts receivable documentation.Assist with contract closeouts and maintain accounts receivable metrics.Prepare schedules for annual Incurred Cost Submissions.Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts receivable or an Associate's degree in accounting.Proficiency in government billing and invoicing.Basic proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and vlookups.Experience with SOX compliance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with WAWF (Wide Area Workflow).

Work Environment

The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, from 7 AM to 4 PM, and is 100% on-site. This role offers the opportunity to transition from a contract position to permanent employment with a large local employer in the ship repair industry.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
