Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Billing Account Specialist to serve as the first point of contact for inquiries related to eligibility, claims, membership, and billing. This role requires a strong communicator who can manage complex requests across multiple channels while maintaining a high standard of service and accuracy.
ResponsibilitiesRespond to inbound inquiries via phone, email, and written correspondence from members, providers, group administrators, and brokers regarding billing, claims, and eligibility.Investigate and resolve complex account issues, including claim adjustments and refund processing.Accurately document all interactions in the internal call resolution system.Maintain compliance with HIPAA and internal privacy standards.Meet productivity benchmarks and turnaround expectations for inquiry resolution.Support cross-functional teams and participate in ongoing training initiatives.Identify and escalate system discrepancies or process inefficiencies.Handle escalated issues in the absence of a supervisor or team lead.Perform additional duties as needed to support billing operations and customer satisfaction.Essential SkillsData entryMedical billingClaim managementBilling managementInsurance knowledgeMicrosoft Office proficiencyHIPAA complianceOutlookCustomer serviceMedical and Medicare knowledgePayment postingCustomer supportAdministrative supportAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum 2 years of experience in a customer-facing or billing-related role.Experience in dental or health insurance, or a dental office, is a plus.Kentucky Health and Life Insurance license preferred.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Excellent organizational and time management abilities.Ability to multitask and resolve issues independently with sound judgment.Proficiency in documenting and tracking customer interactions.Work Environment
Training is personalized and one-on-one with no set duration, ensuring comfort in the role. Once training is complete, there's an opportunity to transition into a hybrid schedule with three days in the office and two remote, as determined by the manager. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $19.00/hr.
