Bilingual HR Director (Mandarin)
Job Description Insight Global is sourcing a strategic yet hands-on Mandarin speaking HR Director (or above) to lead one of our fastest growing start up clients in the Bay Area's human resources function. This role will go beyond traditional HR responsibilities—bringing business acumen, organizational design expertise, and startup agility to help shape our client’s growth trajectory. The ideal candidate has successfully built HR frameworks in dynamic, high-growth companies, and can partner directly with leadership and managers to align talent, performance, and organizational structure with business goals. Responsibilities: ● Organizational Development & Restructuring -Lead org design and restructuring initiatives to align with evolving business priorities. -Maintain and optimize the org chart, ensuring clarity in reporting lines, roles, and responsibilities. ● Compensation & Benefits Strategy -Oversee salary benchmarking and develop fair, competitive, and scalable compensation structures. -Evaluate and optimize benefits programs that enhance employee satisfaction and retention. ● Performance Management & KPI Alignment -Partner with department head or business unit stakeholder to define role-specific KPIs and performance metrics. -Develop frameworks for performance reviews, goal-setting, and continuous feedback. ● HR Operations & Compliance -Lead HR policies, employee relations, and compliance across US and cross-border offices. -Implement scalable HR systems, SOPs, and processes to support company growth. ● Talent & Culture -Support recruitment strategy in partnership with TA team; ensure we attract and retain top talent. -Drive initiatives that foster employee engagement, learning, and professional development. -Act as a culture ambassador—helping balance startup agility with long-term organizational health. ● Leadership & Business Partnership -Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, bringing business insights to people decisions. -Translate strategic priorities into actionable HR initiatives that support company success. This role can pay between $200k-$240k depending on years of experience and skillset. Skills and Requirements -Bilingual in Mandarin -Ability to be onsite 5x week in Sunnyvale -8+ years in HR, with at least 3+ years in a senior HR leadership role (Head of HR, HRD) -Proven track record in org restructuring, compensation design, performance management frameworks, and HR operations. -Strong understanding of how HR strategies drive business outcomes; experience working directly with founders and leadership teams. -Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field; advanced degree or HR certifications (SHRM-SCP, SPHR) a plus. -Startup or entertainment/tech industry experience strongly preferred. null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
