Bilingual Director of Finance - 19295

Our client, a large, global and successful importer and distributor of consumer products is seeking a Director of Finance, fluent in both Spanish & English to oversee the finance operations in Canada. Reporting to the Canadian CEO, you will be responsible for the financial reporting, accounting, internal controls, regulatory compliance and leading a finance team to support business growth across Canada.

Reporting to the CEO, key responsibilities will include:
Prepare and analyze the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements. Provide oversight to the day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general accounting functions. Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including sales, gross margin, operating expenses and profitability. Prepare and review key reporting deliverables for internal stakeholders, external auditors and regulatory bodies. Manage tax compliance including sales tax and corporate tax. Design, implement and oversee risk control strategies. Monitor and assess financial risks related to inventory management, supply chain disruptions and market fluctuations. Hire develop and train top finance talent to support business objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate financial controls and risk management into daily operations. Work closely with senior executive to develop financial strategies that align with business growth and market trends. Oversee cash flow management to support business operations and future investments. Lead financial projects including system upgrades, process improvements and reporting enhancements. Implement technology-driven financial solutions to streamline accounting and financial processes.
What the successful candidate will bring:
A CPA designation with a minimum of 10+ years of senior finance leadership. The ability to communicate in both Spanish and English is essential. Strong expertise in financial reporting, risk management and internal controls. Proven experience in IFRS, compliance, external audits and regulatory reporting. Comfort and experience with ERP systems. Excellent people and communication skills and ability to deal effectively with all stakeholders. Prior experience and strong knowledge within the import/distribution sector including supply chain and inventory management.  Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and develop a team. Strong analytical and problem solving ability.
