Bilingual Department Assistant – Battle Creek, MI (Spring Creek)
Pay: $18.00 – $23.00/hour
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday–Friday (5/10 workweek required), with possible Saturdays/Sundays
PDS Tech Commercial is hiring a Bilingual Department Assistant to support an active construction project in Battle Creek, MI. Based in a field office trailer, you’ll provide essential administrative support and bilingual communication that keeps daily operations running smoothly.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcess and verify field craft payroll and time entry
Manage new hire paperwork and ensure completion before payroll submission
Maintain jobsite logs and apprentice records (IRA, Baker Tilly)
Track and submit correction paychecks
Support document control, deliveries, office supply orders, and event/training setup
Translate documents, assist Spanish-speaking crew members, and finalize orientation paperwork
What We’re Looking ForCompleted High School Diploma or GED
Bilingual: English and Spanish required
2+ years’ experience in an administrative or coordinator role (construction preferred)
Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
Proficiency in MS Access, Excel, and Word (Oracle preferred)
Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle able to drive on gravel roads (MVR check required)
Ability to work 40–50+ hours per week (OT after 40 hrs, per state guidelines)
Work boots required (not reimbursed)
Physical & Work EnvironmentActive construction site, field office trailer
Frequent walking, standing, and typing; occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs
Traditional schedule only (not eligible for flex 9/80)

Pay Details: $18.00 to $23.00 per hour
