Do you want to help customers find the best prices on Amazon? How do we know if customers are happy with our prices? Amazon’s EU Pricing team is looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer who will work with a global team of economists, data scientists and product managers to build features that make it easier to find the best prices at Amazon-scale across Europe. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, curious, have a sense of humor, and demonstrate an ability to have fun.
Key job responsibilities
As part of this role you will:
1. Work closely with product, economist, Data Engineering, AI and ML teams to identify opportunities and issues.
2. Participate in developing strategy for turning data into actionable insights
3. Inspect key metrics to uncover trends and root causes of issues.
4. Build AI solutions to measure and provide insights on key inputs and output metrics that drive Amazon price perception
5. Develop deep dive tools and BIE products used across Amazon to understand our key metrics.
A day in the life
In this role you will have exposure to all phases of the product life cycle including researching customer needs, developing opportunity models, and building operational metrics. You will develop and maintain scalable, automated, user-friendly systems, AI solutions, and visual interfaces to support product strategy and operational performance. You will work closely with and guide a team of BIEs to work smarter, faster, and generate big ideas. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with big data sets, exposure to data science, and contributing to product design.
About the team
The EU Pricing team ensures that Amazon’s customers see the most competitive prices across Amazon’s EU stores and drives positive price perception for customers across EU. In a very real way, we impact our customers every day.
The position can be based in Luxembourg (where the Head of EU Pricing & Regional Programs is based), London, Paris, Munich, Milan or Madrid.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience in the data/BI space
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
