About the role

As a Bid Director, you will lead the bid process for large and complex strategic bids, guiding opportunities from identification through to proposal submission. Your primary objective will be to develop and execute effective win strategies that align with Foundever’s objectives and client requirements. You will collaborate with various teams, including sales, technical, legal, and finance, ensuring all aspects of each bid are comprehensively addressed. Additionally, you will manage resources and timelines to guarantee on-time, high-quality proposal submissions. Your role will also involve identifying new business opportunities by monitoring public and private sector tender portals. Maintaining accurate and comprehensive bid documentation, including bid files, communication records, and pricing information, is vital. Participation in negotiation sessions to secure favourable terms while emphasising profitability is expected. Compliance with client requirements and industry standards, along with monitoring and evaluating bid performance metrics for continuous improvement, are essential responsibilities.

Fluent Spoken and Written English is required  plus either French or Spanish is a bonus. 

Experience Required

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field. A minimum of 7 years of experience in bid management or proposal management is required, with at least 5 years in a BPO environment. The candidate must have a demonstrable track record of winning bids through effective proposal management and a strong understanding of the bid lifecycle, proposal writing, and contract negotiation. Proficiency in bid management software and MS Office is necessary, along with meticulous attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate the entire bid management process, ensuring adherence to the Bid Management Playbook.

Manage multiple proposals simultaneously with fast turnaround times, owning the final product in collaboration with Sales.

Develop compelling bid content, including value propositions and technical responses, ensuring alignment with win themes and evaluation criteria.

Collaborate with executive leadership and internal stakeholders to gather information and formulate bid strategies.

Taking some line management responsibilities, such as, overseeing performance, providing regular feedback, and ensuring alignment with bid management best practises and centre of competence.

Conduct bid qualification, including strategy workshops and risk assessments to validate key elements.

Facilitate proposal kick-off meetings to confirm roles, timelines, and communication plans, and decompose RFPs into mandatory and discretionary requirements.

Coordinate and facilitate bid review meetings to ensure stakeholder engagement and address concerns.

Work with the Win teams to develop competitive pricing strategies that align with bid requirements and profitability targets.

Conduct post-bid analysis to identify areas for improvement and implement lessons learned for future bids.

Continuously enhance bid processes, templates, and best practices to increase efficiency and effectiveness and share insights for collaboration across regions.

Serve as a subject matter expert, providing support and mentoring to bid team members.

Prepare reports and presentations for management as needed and contribute to the onboarding of new team members and the development of training materials.

Adhere to Foundever policies on ethics and integrity, participating in occasional travel for internal off-site meetings or conferences.

Skills Required

Ability to develop a profound understanding of Foundever's service/product offerings and apply them cohesively.

Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills with stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite executives.

Proven capability to write clear and persuasive documents tailored to technical and non-technical audiences, incorporating storytelling into bid responses.

Experience in fast-paced team environments with adaptability to changing priorities.

Experience in mentoring and coaching team members, along with cross-functional team management.

Experience in multicultural and global settings is preferred.

High proficiency in written and spoken English, with French or Spanish being an added advantage.

Expert skills in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Familiarity with AP Style and adherence to Foundever’s style guide/brand guide.

Capable of handling complex clients, with an understanding of financials and budgets.
