Job Description Insight Global is looking for a Data Scientist to support a government client located in Atlanta Georgia. This Data Scientist will support and handle database implementation. In this role you will implement standard database solution or new solutions in accordance to provided design documents, installs and configure database software following documented standards, and installs and configure application software. Day to day:  Database Administrator qualities for the Oracle system  Extracting data from data source (Mostly Oracle ERP and some SQL Server)  Pushing data into of Tableau/PowerBI using ETL and general SQL Queries.  Creating custom Dashboards/Reports for all divisions (HR, Finance, etc)  Meeting with stakeholders in all divisions to take in requirements and create reports/dashboards for them. Responsibilities:  Performance Monitoring and Tuning. You will monitor the state of county databases for optimal performance, reliability and resource consumption in addition to performing corrective actions and consults with senior staff when necessary. Availability/Backup and Recovery is also a function that this position will work with. Protect data from hardware, software and human failure.  Implement disaster-recovery procedures and policies.  Implement High-Availability solutions to reduce outages.  Provide for and implement database backups. Implement User and Data Security is a important function of this position.  Assign users to database sources and determine appropriate levels of data access to said databases.  Ensure data security through standard server security best practices.  Incident diagnosis and resolution is a duty that will be implemented.  Monitor Help desk for incident and communicate with application and infrastructure staff to resolve incidents.  Assist application staff and implementation teams with incident diagnosis and resolution.  Database management reports will be used to review database configuration. This will be used to modify or confirm desired database configuration. Database storage usage statistics will be used to provide information to management for evaluation. Pay Rate is between 55-70/hr. determined during the interview process by the hiring manager. This role will require you to go into the office 2 days a week. Skills and Requirements Strong Oracle Back-End Skills o Light Oracle Administration  SQL and PL/SQL Querying skills  ETL and/or SQL Queries - SQL and PL/SQL - to move data from Oracle to Tableau/PowerBI  Experience using Tableau/PowerBI for Dashboards/Reports  Basic Cloud Migration: Migrating Databases to AWS/Azure/GCP  Extensive knowledge of database concepts, and Sequel Query Language (SQL).  Data modeling concepts knowledge, and experience with modern Database such as MS SQL*Server or Oracle. Knowledge of Oracle databases and application servers.  Database Performance Tuning and Database High Availability knowledge.
