Job Summary

Summary<br>Under the direction of a faculty researcher and program manager, assist in the development, coordination, and implementation of several evaluation projects of hospital- and community-based health improvement programs.<br><br>Does this position require Patient Care?<br>No<br><br>Essential Functions<br>-Assist in the development and design of surveys <br>
-Coordinate, implement, and monitor data collection activities, including survey administration and interviewing <br>
-Plan, coordinate, and supervise data processing <br>
-Database management <br>
-Assist with the development and design of large relational databases using Access <br>
-Train program directors and program coordinators on the use of Access databases <br>
-Data analysis using SAS and other statistical packages <br>
-Develop MS PowerPoint presentation <br>


 

Qualifications

Dr. Yanek Jimenez-Andrade is seeking candidates for a research technician position for her team. This team is a part of the collaborative research group led by Drs. Jin Mo Park and Ethan Lerner in the Cutaneous Biology Research Center. This position is based in the Charlestown Navy Yard campus of MGH (149 Thirteenth Street, Charlestown, MA 02129). The job title and salary will be commensurate with experience and knowledge/skill levels.

Job Duties

Dr. Jimenez-Andrade's research is focused on skin and airway inflammation and cell signaling. The research technician position will support the principal investigator's multiple research projects involving mouse colony maintenance, genotyping, procedures related to mouse disease models, and tissue/primary cell analysis.

Minimum Qualifications

- A BA/BS degree

- Prior experience with bench research, cell culture, and molecular analysis (DNA, RNA, protein)

-Ability to follow protocols

- Maintain accurate records

- Computer software skills for data management

- Work under frequent supervision

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior animal work experience (breeding, cage maintenance, tissue isolation/analysis)
