Benefits Specialist
Description Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable HR Benefits Specialist to join our client's human resources team. In this role, you will oversee employee benefits programs, ensuring they are administered efficiently and align with the organization’s goals. The HR Benefits Specialist will be responsible for handling benefit inquiries, maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations, and recommending enhancements to existing benefits offerings. This position requires a strong understanding of benefits programs such as health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and related systems. Key Responsibilities: + Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, life insurance, 401(k) plans, FSA/HSA accounts, and wellness initiatives. + Act as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits inquiries and provide exceptional customer service in resolving issues. + Ensure compliance with benefits regulations, including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, and other applicable federal or state laws. + Support the open enrollment process, including creating communication materials, conducting information sessions, and troubleshooting enrollment issues. + Maintain accurate benefits records in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and ensure data integrity for payroll and reporting purposes. + Collaborate with insurance brokers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to manage plan renewals, negotiate terms, and analyze cost changes. + Conduct benchmarking analyses to ensure competitiveness of benefits offerings and provide recommendations for program improvements. + Assist in developing and delivering benefits education materials, workshops, and orientations for employees. + Monitor and process benefits invoices, reconcile discrepancies, and ensure timely payment to vendors. + Stay current on industry trends, changes in legislation, and best practices to enhance employee benefit offerings. Requirements Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. + 2–4 years of experience in benefits administration or a related role in HR. + Familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). + Strong understanding of benefits compliance requirements (e.g., ACA, COBRA, HIPAA). + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with employees, vendors, and internal teams. + Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities to evaluate benefits programs and resolve issues. + Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
