Job Title: Benefits & Leave Coordinator
Job Description
The Benefits & Leave Coordinator is responsible for administering and supporting employee benefits and leave-of-absence (LOA) programs. This role serves as a frontline resource for employees, ensuring accurate, compliant, and responsive support across benefits enrollment, leave case management, and related systems. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience, strong compliance awareness, and the ability to quickly adapt with minimal training.
Responsibilities
Administer employee benefits programs including new hire enrollment, qualifying life events, open enrollment support, and Evidence of Insurability (EOI).Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries and partner with vendors to resolve issues as needed.Manage leave-of-absence cases from intake through return-to-work, ensuring compliance with FMLA, CFRA, ADA, and applicable state regulations.Communicate directly with employees throughout the leave process regarding timelines, documentation, and status updates.Maintain accurate records in HRIS and benefits/leave systems; ensure data integrity and timely documentation.Support People Operations and Business Partners with reporting, audits, and process improvements related to benefits and leave.Essential Skills
2+ years of direct experience in benefits administration and/or leave of absence management.Hands-on experience administering FMLA, CFRA, ADA, and related leave programs.Experience working in HRIS and benefits/leave platforms such as Workday, ADP, Sedgwick, or similar.Strong understanding of compliance requirements, timelines, and documentation standards.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and service-focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook.Work Environment
This position is primarily remote with some occasional hybrid visits required. The candidate should be local to the Bay Area footprint.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sunnyvale, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
