Our client, a health-related non-profit organization, is looking for a detail-oriented Benefits & HR Specialist to support their People Operations team. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on HR experience, particularly in benefits administration, who wants exposure to a full range of HR functions in a dynamic, mission-driven organization. You'll provide administrative and benefits support, manage employee inquiries, and help maintain seamless HR operations.
What You'll Do:
* Manage HR administrative tasks including data entry, onboarding, job/pay changes, and record keeping in ADP Workforce Now
* Support benefits administration, FMLA, and open enrollment processes
* Respond to employee inquiries and coordinate with vendors on benefits-related questions
* Act as a liaison with ADP to ensure HR compliance
* Draft HR documents such as employment and leave letters
* Maintain HR files and SharePoint materials
* Monitor and triage the HR inbox
* Support HR initiatives, staff events, and special projects
What We're Looking For:
* 5+ years of HR experience, preferably with benefits administration and exposure to smaller organizations where you can wear multiple HR hats
* Experience with ADP Workforce Now and HRMS systems; familiarity with ATS systems a plus
* Bachelor's degree in business, HR, or related field (or equivalent experience)
* Knowledge of federal and state employment laws preferred
* Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and multitasking ability
* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
* Professional maturity, discretion, and ability to handle confidential HR information

About the Position:
* Type: Contract for 6-months, potential to extend
* Location: Arlington, VA
* Schedule: 40 hours/week, on-site 3-4 days/week (Mon-Thurs), potential for 1 remote day after training
* Compensation: $32-$35/hr
