Benefits Analyst
Job Title: Benefits Analyst Location: Hybrid (Flexible) – Holyoke, MA Industry: Non-Profit Role Overview As a Benefits Analyst, you will play a vital role in supporting the administration, communication, and continuous improvement of employee benefits programs. This position offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of benefits—from health and wellness to leave management and compliance—while contributing to a collaborative, mission-driven HR team. Key Responsibilities Benefits Program Administration + Oversee daily operations of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans. + Track and process education reimbursement and other benefit-related transactions. + Ensure timely and accurate enrollment, updates, and terminations in benefits systems. Leave and Compliance Support + Assist with intake and coordination of leave requests (FMLA, ADA accommodations, Workers’ Compensation). + Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to benefits and leave. + Act as a liaison between employees, vendors, and internal teams to facilitate leave and accommodation processes. Employee Communication & Engagement + Present benefits information during onboarding, open enrollment, and wellness events. + Develop and distribute clear, engaging communications (guides, FAQs, email campaigns). + Respond to employee inquiries with professionalism and clarity. Process Improvement & Documentation + Identify opportunities to streamline and automate benefits processes. + Maintain documentation for procedures and workflows. + Support audits, data integrity checks, and invoice reconciliation. Project & Event Support + Assist in planning and executing benefits-related events (webinars, fairs, wellness initiatives). + Contribute to special projects involving benefits strategy, vendor management, and policy updates. + Collaborate with HR colleagues on cross-functional initiatives and seasonal priorities (e.g., open enrollment). Qualifications Education & Experience + Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience). + 2–4 years of experience in benefits administration, HR operations, or a related area. + Experience working in a non-profit or mission-driven organization is a plus. Technical Skills + Proficiency with HRIS systems and benefits platforms (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paylocity). + Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data for audits, reconciliations, and reporting. + Familiarity with compliance requirements (FMLA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ADA, etc.). Communication & Interpersonal Skills + Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex benefits information clearly. + Strong customer service orientation and ability to handle sensitive employee inquiries with discretion and empathy. + Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across teams and with external vendors. Organizational & Analytical Skills + Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities. + Capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. + Analytical thinker with a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
