Job Description: Job Title: Benefits Coordinator Department: Human Resources FLSA: Non-Exempt General Function: Acts as a benefits coordinator and leave administrator. Assists others in the department as needed. Core Competencies + Partnerships + Growth mindset + Results oriented + Customer focused + Professionalism Reporting Relations: Accountable and Reports to: AVP, Benefits Positions that Report to you: None Primary Duties and Responsibilities: + Acts as an insurance coordinator. + Assists new and current employees during benefit meetings, open enrollment, and questions. + Complies, send, organizes, changes and maintains job description spreadsheet, job descriptions and reviews + Assist others in the department when needed. + Reports to work when scheduled and on time. Secondary Duties and Responsibilities: + Assist with set up and organizing of Hy-Vee functions as needed. + Performs other job related duties and special projects as required. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics: + Must have the ability to follow written and verbal instructions; several concrete variables. + Must possess the ability to do mathematical calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages. + Able to make appointments and process mail; write form letters or routine correspondence; interpret written work instructions, and have increased contact with people. Education and Experience: + High School or equivalent experience. + Basic computer knowledge helpful. + One to three years of similar or related work experience. Supervisory Responsibility (Direct Reports): None. Physical Requirements: + Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. + Visual requirements include vision from 20 inches or less to 20 feet or more with or without correction. + Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Pulling, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Working Conditions: The duties of this position are performed in an office setting. There is frequent pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a day. Equipment Used to Perform Job: WMS system, PC with word processing and spreadsheet software, 10-key calculator, telephone switchboard, fax, copier and mainframe. Financial Responsibility: None. Contacts: Has daily contact with customers, general public, community or trade/professional organizations, federal/state governmental and or regulatory agencies.
