Scope of Position:

The Bell-Attendant is responsible for helping guests in and out of the property, assisting guests by providing safe transportation, carrying baggage and delivering items and information in an efficient and pleasant manner. 

Position Qualifications and Requirements:

High school diploma or GED certification preferred or equivalent work experience. At least one year guest service experience in hospitality environment or equivalent experience preferred. Previous preferred customer service experience. Flexible schedule to workdays, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Physical Demands:

Long hours sometimes required, including nights and weekends. Heavy work-Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 50 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Able to stand for most shift.

Required Competencies

Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly, both oral and written. Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately. Must be able to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations. Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure. Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying concerns and issues raised by associates and guests.

Responsibilities may include any and all of the following: 

Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Regular attendance is required in compliance with SW Hotel standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes a clean, pressed uniform and correct nametag when working. Comply at all times with SW Hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations. Must, at all times, be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers, and other team members. Assist incoming and outgoing guests carrying baggage to and from their rooms; explain features of room to guest ensuring that all equipment is functioning properly; give location of ice and vending machines; review safety procedures. Maintain thorough knowledge of all hotel facilities, outlets and services for guests as opportunities to increase guest satisfaction and maximize hotel revenues. Respond to guest needs including delivery of guest mail/messages, and any other requests received from guests or Guest Services staff. Transport guests to and from airport or other guest requested locations in a safe manner, if applicable. Provide guest with local directions in a courteous and accurate manner.
