You’ll gain hands-on experience working with children and adults who have intellectual and developmental disabilities in a supportive, team-based residential setting. You’ll receive training and supervision as you develop and implement behavior support programs, conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs), write behavior intervention plans (BIPs), and participate in treatment teams. This is an ideal position for those who want to grow their skill set under the guidance of experienced clinicians and gain the competencies needed for certification and advancement in the ABA field. Develop evidence-based behavior strategies informed by FBAs, preference assessments, and other data-driven tools. Monitor progress using objective data to evaluate the effectiveness of behavior support plans and adjust as needed. Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to make sure each client’s goals and strategies align with their long-term goals. Conduct regular progress notes, graphs, and data summaries to maintain treatment integrity and fidelity. Participate in medication reviews and offer behavior analytic insight. Provide crisis support and skill development during challenging situations. Facilitate the transfer of skills to direct support staff and caregivers through training and coaching sessions. Support client transitions into less restrictive settings by teaching meaningful replacement skills and functional communication. Maintain clinical documentation that complies with state licensing and funding requirements. Develop a deeper understanding of behavior-analytic principles by attending trainings, supervisions, and team reviews. Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related discipline required. Familiarity with ABA principles and evidence-based practices. Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred, especially in residential, community, school, or clinic settings. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate professionally across teams. Able to meet physical requirements of the role (e.g., lifting up to 50 pounds). Commitment to maintaining credentials, pursuing professional development, and becoming licensed or certified as a BCBA or related discipline.
