Behavioral Support Specialist

Job Summary and Responsibilities
Be a Pillar of Safety and Support: Provide appropriate emergency care and maintain a secure environment, acting as a crucial resource in critical situations for patient and staff safety.Champion Trauma-Informed Care: Offer compassionate supervision and support to patients, applying trauma-informed principles even in challenging situations such as physical restraints or seclusion.Connect and Communicate Effectively: Engage with patients in a multicultural context, using both verbal and written techniques to build trust, foster understanding, and facilitate recovery.Collaborate and Grow: Actively participate in staff meetings, quality assurance activities, safety programs, program development, and continuous training to maintain strong communication and harmonious relationships across departments.Master De-escalation Techniques: Utilize HSS techniques for effective aggression management, striving to avoid and reduce the use of restraints and seclusion. Apply HSS for positive interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and critical thinking, all within a trauma-informed framework to promote individual development.Provide Insightful Documentation: Document objective observations of patient behaviors, program involvement, social interactions, and mental status, contributing valuable insights to personalized care plans.Excel in Your Role: Consistently carry out assigned tasks within your scope of training, demonstrating professionalism, timeliness, and adherence to professional dress (Ceil blue scrubs).Mentor and Lead: Serve as a mentor and resource for staff, including precepting new Behavioral Support Specialists. Collaborate with therapists and nurses to manage daily tasks and optimize the therapeutic environment, ensuring seamless patient care.Foster a Positive Culture: Demonstrate exceptional teamwork, contributing to new programming curricula, fostering a positive workplace culture, and consistently upholding our company's core values.Empower Patient Growth: Support patients in meeting their goals by providing professional support and constructive interactions to promote emotional stability and increase skills to cope with and adapt to challenges.Facilitate Therapeutic Engagement: Assist in ensuring that the therapeutic group schedule is followed by working with the team to supervise the milieu and encourage active patient participation.

We are offering up to a $1,500 Sign-On Bonus to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

Schedule: 8AM-830PM (three days a week), every third weekend, rotating holidays


Job Requirements
