Behavioral Health Therapist I
Inova Peterson Life with Cancer at Inova Schar Cancer, Fairfax is Life with Cancer is seeking an Behavioral Health Therapist I / Art Therapist with an ATR-BC. Their responsibilities will include the provision of individual art therapy to oncology patients and caregivers in the inpatient setting at IFMC. Clinicians will engage in assessment and planning for evidence-based clinical interventions to promote adjustment to illness and coping through treatment and/or end of life care. This role will be full-time day shift from Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Provides a range of mental health and/or substance use disorders therapeutic interventions, psycho-educational programming and behavioral interventions (when indicated) to assist the patient/family in achieving the goals and objectives of the individualized service plan. May participate in inpatient and community psychoeducational programs, facilitate support groups for specified disease processes related to mental health, medical diagnosis, chronic or life-limited illnesses while assisting with community outreach. Duties will be performed under the clinical supervision of an approved clinical supervisor.Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree, Ph.D., PsyD, EdD in mental health, social work, counseling, psychology, or behavioral health-related field Experience: Internship in mental health or substance use disorder treatment completed within 90 days of employment. Certification: Basic Life Support Within 3 Months. CPI in-person training for non-violent crisis intervention, receive CPI blue card within 6 months of hire. Licensure: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), or Licensed Substance Abuse Professional (LSATP) within 5 years. Must comply with the appropriate licensing board requirement for registering as a Resident in Training or Supervisee in Clinical Social Work or applicable title identified by the specific licensing board within 4 months of hire.Preferred Qualifications:
