Behavioral Health Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:
Person in this position will provide direct supervision of clients ensuring safety of all residents, model appropriate behavior, and compliance to program rules. Daily routine care and supervision will fall mainly to the Behavioral Health Technician.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with chores including mealtime preparation and facilitate house meetings. Transport to community appointments such as medical, dental, school, as needed. Complete support documentation and daily notes for assigned clients. May be required to witness/monitor clients taking medication. Utilize crisis intervention techniques to assist with de-escalation of situations ensuring safety for all. Work under the supervision of the Program Manager. Assist the Program Manager and LPNs as needed, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Use and manage the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to accurately enter data and track client information, maintaining alignment with program standards. Ensure all documentation adheres to agency policies, confidentiality guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Check staff email regularly during each shift for updates and communications; review, sign, and contribute to the daily staff logbook to maintain clear handoff communication. Follow the program’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for medication administration and Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) responsibilities. Prepare and deliver detailed shift change reports, including medication counts and pertinent client details, to the incoming team. Update and verify client information in the Client Data System (CDS) to accurately reflect admissions, discharges, and transfers. Other duties as assigned.
