All while understanding that **together** we are even better. **Schedule:** Per Diem **Shift** :Days **Location:** AdventHealth Deland **The community you'll be caring for** : 701 W PLYMOUTH AVE, Deland, 32720 **The role you'll contribute:** This specifically trained nurse is responsible for participating in the surgical suite to function in the role of Circulator and assist the surgeon in performing surgical procedures. The RN Circulator has knowledge of instrumentation, sterile technique, and following AORN guidelines during the care of the surgical patient. The RN Circulator maintains a safe surgical environment during the perioperative course. Responsibilities include the planning, administering and/or supervising of nursing activities during the Perioperative and intraoperative care of the patient. The RN Circulator is responsible to adhere to the Adventist Health System Corporate Compliance Plan, and to all the rules and regulations of applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Assists in any other tasks directed by the specialty coordinator/charge or manager of the CVOR. The RN may be assigned to the scrub role or second assistant based on the level of training and experience. **The value you'll bring to the team:** + Demonstrates effective assessment skills to ensure quality patient care is provided. + Performs and documents accurate initial assessment per unit standard which may include initial observation, obtaining and interpreting information in terms of the patients' needs, safety, discharge planning, psych/social/cultural, family needs, multi-system physical assessment, patient/family level of knowledge and readiness to learn about disease process and care requirements. Reports appropriate information in a timely manner to the responsible physician. + Observes and monitors patient lab work for trends and reports abnormal lab tests to the appropriate physician and obtains appropriate interventions. + Utilizes clinical data to implement appropriate interventions. + Performs and documents ongoing patient assessment which accurately reflects patients' physical and mental status ranging from child to geriatric according to unit standards and patient condition. **The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:** **Minimum qualifications** : + Graduate from school of nursing with a minimum of an Associate of Science degree or diploma. + Active Florida RN license required or active multi-state RN license + Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. + Formal De-escalation Training- must be obtained within 90 days of employment + AHCA Level II Fingerprint Background **Preferred qualifications** : + Bachelors (BSN) degree + National certification in areas of practice + Member of national professional organization This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
