Behavioral Health Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Description:Saint Joseph Medical Group has an excellent full-time employment opportunity for a Behavioral Health Licensed Clinical Social Worker to join a practice located in Mishawaka, Indiana.

Clinical Social Worker/Counselor utilizes various treatment modalities in providing group and individual treatment services to patients in need of behavioral health services, their families and significant others, in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. The Clinical Social Worker/Counselor uses professional and clinical judgment for initial and ongoing assessment, treatment planning, specialized trauma care and discharge planning. The CSW carries a select client caseload, supports the program as otherwise assigned by the practice manager. The CSW will practice within the scope of SJHS and department policies and procedures, including within the scope of state statues and licensure, and within accepted professional standards of conduct and performance.

This position will be employed by Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, a regional health system of Trinity Health.

Completes psychosocial assessments and determines appropriate level of care for new and returning clients. 

Independently diagnoses clients. 

Uses clinical judgment in establishing individual treatment plans and interventions, as indicated. 

Facilitates group therapy treatment as assigned. 

Orients clients to trauma treatment and effectively engages them in treatment. 

May provide supervision for graduate students, interns, LSWs, PCs, and MFTs with clinical assignments in the program. 

Education, Outreach and Advocacy 

Provides consultation services to schools, courts, local businesses, and community providers. 

Initiates outreach opportunities, provides educational presentations, and attends task force meetings as assigned. 

Serves as interdepartmental and interagency liaison. 

Performs personal advocacy, as requested by clients, with other professionals, social service agencies, and the criminal justice system. 

Documentation/Reporting 

Documents client data accurately and completely, in accordance with documentation guidelines. 

Completes documentation/reporting on all activities as required. 

Computer Skills 

Utilizes hospital computer systems effectively. 

Uses intranet and internet appropriately. 

Initiative 

Participates in performance improvement 

Manages own productivity according to department productivity requirements, up to and including    production goals set on RVU models. 

Participates in committee/project work, and unit activities. 

Orients new personnel. 

Takes responsibility for continuing education. 

Will complete any and all activities required for continued licensure, and to continue membership in professional organizations. 

Will be expected to maintain membership in a professional organization, such as the NASW (National Association of Social Work). 

Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed. 

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES 

Education:   Completion of master's program in Social Work or Counseling. 

Licensure: Independent licensure by the state of Indiana Counselor and Social Work Board (LISW, LPCC, LMFT) required. 

Experience: At least two years of experience, including: performed psychosocial assessments; individual, family, and group counseling.  Experience in trauma, grief, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, preferred. 

Other Job Requirements:   

Effective communication skills. 

Awareness of specific issues related to trauma, loss, and victimization. 

Ability to effectively apply professional training and specialization skills in providing treatment. 

EMDR training and certification preferred. 

Assigned hours within your shift, starting time, or days of work are subject to change based on departmental and/or organizational needs. 

Indiana LCSW license is required.
