Behavioral Health Clinician III

Summary: The Behavioral Health Clinician III delivers direct care, assessments, and therapeutic services to individuals experiencing acute mental health and substance use challenges. Working within a collaborative, team-based environment, the clinician provides ongoing care management and clinical support through comprehensive assessment, care planning, implementation, and continuous evaluation of each individual's needs. Responsibilities: + Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and risk evaluations for patients identified as having safety concerns risk. + Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the patient, family, and treatment team. + Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions using appropriate clinical modalities. + Participate in daily multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care and support discharge planning. + Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, nurses, and support staff to ensure cohesive care delivery. + Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support as needed. + Maintains a working knowledge of North Carolina state statutes related to the involuntary commitment process. + Document clinical interactions and progress notes in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. + Assist patients and families in understanding treatment goals, discharge plans, and referrals to outpatient services. + Coordinates and facilitates safe discharge plans by connecting individuals to appropriate community resources and support services. + Provides guidance, training, and coaching to new staff and interns in accordance with established practice standards and program guidelines. + Participates in the development of therapeutic unit programming aimed at improving patient outcomes.
