Behavior Technician – Special Education (Elementary Level) Location: Harrison Elementary School Schedule: Monday–Thursday (4-day school week) Hours: 25 hours/week (5 hours/day) Contract Length: 4 months Start Date: February 23, 2026 Openings: 1 Position Overview The Behavior Technician supports educational and behavioral services for students with special needs, working closely with school staff and behavioral specialists to help students meet individualized learning and behavioral goals. This role is classroom-based within a specialized Special Education environment. Assignment Details + Age Group: Elementary + Program: ISP classroom (Intensive Support Program) + Caseload: 7 students + Team Structure: 1 SPED teacher + 5 instructional assistants + this BT (7th adult in the room) + Environment: Extremely high-behavior setting + Duties: + Provide direct support to students with significant behavioral needs + Assist with behavior management, redirection, and safety interventions + Support academic and functional skill development + Maintain consistent routines and follow behavior plans + Behaviors Present: Hitting, kicking, biting, elopement, task refusal + Attendance: Reliable attendance is essential due to the intensive nature of the classroom Important Placement Note The BT will be paired 1:1 with a student currently on a waitlist for a specialized program at the Westmoreland Campus in Eugene, OR. + Once the student transitions to Eugene, the BT will also be reassigned there. + Candidates must have reliable transportation to both Cottage Grove and Eugene.
