Job Summary Job SummaryJOB DESCRIPTION Provide Behavior Support to designated student(s) with an IEP as outlined in the Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) Under the BID, Education Specialist and General Education Teacher’s direction, the BII will participate in data collection on behaviors as part of the behavior intervention plan (BIP) development and implementation. Collect and record data daily, on behaviors and on interventions used, implement documented Behavior Intervention Plan as instructed by supervisor and described by the IEP Completes and turns in Monthly Service Logs to the Assistant Director of Exceptional Education by the 5th of each month for the previous month of service. Assists teachers in maintaining an environment conducive for learning and encouraging appropriate behavior by the students using a consistent team approach. Assists teachers in carrying out positive reinforcement procedures and reactive strategies identified in the behavior intervention plan, such as prompting student to switch to replacement behavior and debriefing during the school day. Helps students to utilize and organize materials including but not limited to books, classroom materials, and equipment. Maintains overall safety of students, never leaving student(s) unattended. Communicates with staff members with regards to pertinent information regarding student progress and behaviors. Monitor student behavior and utilize approved behavior management techniques to redirect and modify behaviors; Monitor, observe, and report behavioral data of students according to approved procedures; Support and collaborate with general education teacher in providing accommodations for the assigned student with an IEP; Use agreed upon communication protocols to convey information to parents; Report to Assistant Director of Exceptional Education and support from Behavior Intervention Developer (BID).
