Beach Manager

Ocean Edge Resort & Club is seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking, customer service-oriented seasonal Beach Manager to lead a team that will provide guests and members with exemplary beach service.

Compensation: $62,000.00

Position Summary: Our Beach Manager will be enthusiastic, hardworking, and customer service oriented. We expect our Beach Manager to lead a team that will provide guests and members with exemplary beach service: transporting and setting up beach chairs and umbrellas, assisting in beach fires, assisting with Kayak and Paddle board rentals, policing of boardwalk, proper take-down and storage of all beach equipment and being available to execute any other guest or management request.   Essential Functions: Monitor staffing levels and adjust levels as necessary with regards to scheduling. Conduct formal training on the required job functions with new hires with a heavy focus on luxury Forbes standard hospitality. Conduct ongoing training with existing staff and reviewing staff performance in all phases of service and job functions, ensuring that all procedures are carried out to departmental standards. Promote positive attitudes and respect toward facility and staff through personal example. Enforce Ocean Edge resort’s standards, policies and procedures with staff. Supervise beach staff daily, monitoring rotations, lineups and break schedules. Ensure high quality of cleanliness and maintenance for all beach areas and equipment. Legibly document maintenance needs and submit to Club Manager and/or coordinate with the Engineering department. Contact Engineering and the Director for urgent repairs. Monitor inventory of departmental supplies and request ordering of any supplies needed. Be familiar with all resort services/features, local attractions/activities and membership types and passes to respond accurately to any member or resort guest inquiry. Resolve guest complaints assuring satisfactory resolution and appropriate corrective action steps. Notify the Club Manager of any problems or complaints in a timely manner. Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests. Always follow safety emergency procedures. Observe and enforce all rules, regulations and procedures. Exemplify the attributes outlines in job descriptions of those you supervise. Ensures staff maintains complete knowledge of: All membership types and their amenities including guest passes and beach passes. Daily hotel guest list and VIPs in-house. Scheduled group activities and location within hotel. All hotel facilities and services. Hours of operation of each outlet. All equipment and services available for guests at beach. All safety and sanitation regulations for beach. Proper use of respective tools, equipment and supplies in the job functions. Ensures completion all opening and closing duties including appropriate paperwork as assigned following department procedures. Exhibits a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with guests and fellow employees. Requisite Skills: Energetic and personable, our Beach Manager must have excellent customer service skills. This position requires that you are professional, attentive, and friendly – ensuring that our guests and members have a memorable experience. Be upbeat and friendly, have fun doing what you do; Use interpersonal and customer service skills to anticipate guests’ every need. Verbal communication skills – English language. Ability to work well with the general public. Ability to work well under pressure. Experience working with the public in a guest's service setting is preferred. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Ability to stand throughout shift. Bend, lift, kneel, squat, push, pull, walk up and down stairs and through sand. Uniform Requirements: Closed toe shoes are acceptable. Uniform shirt, shorts/skorts, and hat will be provided by Ocean Edge. Team Members must maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance: Clear or light natural nail polish. Facial hair is not permitted. Hair must be kept back or trimmed short. Minimal jewelry. Licenses or Certificates: None required Working Environment: May be exposed to a variety of weather conditions including rain, wind, sun, and humidity. Beach fires may expose the Beach Attendant to smoke, ash, and heat. Extended periods of time spent in direct sun.
