Job Description
Join our team in a battery manufacturing lab dedicated to research and development. This role involves building prototype battery cells and developing technology for large-scale production.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare both aqueous and non-aqueous slurries within specified compositions and viscosities.Coat metal foils and substrates using slot die, doctor blade, and comma reverse coating techniques.Assemble pouch and prismatic battery cells, including electrode calendaring, foil notching, tab welding, packaging, can insertion, and electrolyte injection.Operate battery cyclers, including cell conditioning, formation, degassing, and end-of-line inspection steps.Participate in daily touchpoint meetings to discuss safety, quality, and responsiveness occurrences.Essential SkillsLaboratory experience and technician skills.A 2-year technical degree.Manufacturing experience, ideally in lab settings.At least 5 years of relevant experience (flexible due to the novel nature of this field).Strong time management and teamwork abilities.Quality and safety orientation.Additional Skills & QualificationsRoll-to-roll experience with tape, film, or manufacturing.Troubleshooting abilities or experience with PLC, pneumatics, or hydraulics.Any form of lab experience in chemistry, mechanical, or electrical labs.Work Environment
Work in an innovative GM lab setting. The role involves working closely with other technicians and engineers in a dynamic assembly line environment. Each technician is stationed in a specific room, with opportunities for rotation and expansion after full training. The lab fosters constant innovation with new chemistries and cell architectures, making this position unique and engaging.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
