Job Purpose and Impact

A Batching Flex Operator 2 positively leads a Team in both Personal Safety and Food Safety, ensuring their team members adhere to the Company’s policies and regulations. An Operator 2 is responsible for following the Refining Schedule, operating a variety of grinders, pumps, valves and other associated refining equipment which produce chocolate paste, including Quality checks to meet the specifications of products. An Operator 2 is also required to enter Daily data entries into SAP and excel work sheets. In addition, holding Team members accountable for good housekeeping practices and accurate documentation.

Compensation: $26.69 per hour $0.50/hr

Principal Accountabilities:

Follow all Food Safety (HACCP), GMP’s, WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety, and Environmental programs.Read Batching Schedule and communicate with the Operator 1 from the previous shift to determine the status of the grinding systems (Machinery problems change over status, availability of paste, special operating instructions, quality control issues, etc.)Communicate with the Operator 1 and Material Handlers to instruct and prioritize the daily tasks within the departmentMonitor grinding systems and quality control parameters and make adjustments to batches as necessary  Record data as required on Batch sheets, SAP and excel work sheet.  Complete End of Shift ReportContact Supervisor, Maintenance personnel, and issue Work Order(s) in the event of any mechanical or electrical problems with related equipmentPerform changeovers, documenting quality testing as requiredClean equipment and designated areas, as per the weekly and master cleaning schedules.Complete magnet and filter cleaning as requiredUse pallet handling equipment to move ingredients and materials as required after provided in-house training is completedMaintain all batching and warehouse areas in a neat and clean conditionProperly account for any product spills/scrapFill in for other department jobs as required (Operator 1 or Batcher), including overtime coverage, modified shifts and weekend shifts as neededPerform other duties as assigned by the Batching Supervisor or Operator 1Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal SupervisionTime management, organizational skills, and prioritization are essential to this job description

Required Qualifications:

Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in CanadaCargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years oldHigh school diploma or GEDMust have keyboarding skills for data inputtingMinimum of 1 year related food manufacturing experience and/or trainingAbility to understand and communicate effectively in English (verbal/written)Strong mathematical skillsAbility to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 55 lbs, kneeling, climbing and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodationAbility to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)Ability to operate machinery or industrial equipmentAbility to work in various temperature environmentsMust have the ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts

Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, with an emphasis on Excel and WordExperience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), such as SAPForklift experienceAble to perform basic maintenance trades
