A Material Handler is responsible for staging, transporting, and dumping all packaged dry ingredients into the chocolate paste batching systems.

Key AccountabilitiesPrincipal Accountabilities
Follow all Food Safety (HACCP), GMP’s, WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety, and Environmental programsManually lift and dump ingredients into specified hoppers (up to 55 lbs)Measure ingredients and document amounts and lot #’s according to formulasMaintain raw material inventory logs and reconcile dailyEmpty and wash garbage bins used in Batching departmentContact Supervisor/Operator 1 or 2 and/or Maintenance personnel in the event of any problems with the equipmentClean work areas and equipment as assigned or scheduledMust obtain forklift license, and use pallet handling equipment to move product or ingredient materials as requiredMaintain all production areas in a neat and clean conditionProperly account for any ingredient spills or scrapPerform other duties as assigned by the Batching Supervisor/Operator 1 or 2QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in CanadaCargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years oldMust have keyboarding skills for data inputtingMinimum of 1 year related food manufacturing experience and/or trainingAbility to understand and communicate effectively in English (verbal/written)Strong mathematical skillsAbility to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 55 lbs, kneeling, climbing and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation.Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)Ability to operate machinery or industrial equipmentAbility to work in various temperature environmentsAbility to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shiftsPreferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, with an emphasis on Excel and Word.
