Summary This position is located at Samuel Adams Brewhouse. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Responsibilities Operates a small full-service bar, mixing and serving the full range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Records sales, makes change or prepares charge slips in accordance with operating procedures. Stocks bar. Keeps bar, utensils, equipment and work area clean and sanitary. Keeps records of quantities of beverages dispensed and submits requirement for re-stocking to supervisor. Receives and checks quantity and description of stock Uses tact and courtesy to deny further sales to persons whose conduct has become unruly or who appear to be intoxicated. Applies simple arithmetic in calculating bills and making change. Skill in recognizing impending shortages of inventory. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: 1. Must meet state/local age requirements for the serving of alcoholic at the time of appointment. 2. Be able to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds. 3. Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory. 4. Skill in mixing and serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. 5. Ability to monitor and direct the work of other bar staff. Education Additional Information Area of Consideration This job is open to candidates who live in the commuting area. (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.) PCS Costs Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. Allowances and Differentials This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM. Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
