This is including providing support and guidance to the banquet team, The Catering and Convention Services team, the Convention Services floor department, and Banquet Beverage. This also includes working and communicating closely with all hotel departments, and to ensure a successful and effective event resulting in a positive guest experience. The Event Services Manager's Responsibilities may include: + Supports and Manages the Events Department while working closely with the Food and Beverage Director and other hotel departments. Leadership responsibilities may also include Convention Services Set Up and Banquet Beverage. + Supervise, Empower, Lead, Coach, and Motivate the Banquet team including captains, food servers, and lead house attendants towards achieving exceptional guest service results and complete associate engagement + Ability to assist the hotel in reaching top box service scores on our Meeting Planner surveys. + Ensure thorough communication and understanding with guests and other departments by reviewing Banquet Event Orders. + Responsible for the appropriate and timely set up of all functions and meetings while maintaining standards of food, beverage, and meeting specifications + Responsible for proactively reviewing staffing and equipment needs + Responsible for ensuring coordination and execution of all events with Culinary, Stewarding, Catering/CS, CS Floor, and Beverage + Responsible for maintaining high energy, positive, professional appearance + Responsible for developing innovative and creative décor for the Banquet function space + Responsible for short and long term banquet functions in the front and back of the house + Creates an environment establishing the highest standards of quality service and ensures implementation through effective hiring, training development, promotion, and continuous reinforcement. + Administrative tasks may include the facilitation of payroll, reports, forecasts, point of sale procedures, inventory, and budget for food and beverage functions + Performing daily walk-throughs in banquet department and all function space and storerooms to ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations and Hyatt Corporate standards + Ability to develop ideas for special events and holiday functions At Wild Dunes Resort, part of Destination by Hyatt, we believe our guests choose Hyatt because of our caring, attentive, and service‑driven associates who create authentic hospitality and meaningful experiences. The **Banquet Manager (Event Services Manager)** is responsible for effectively and proactively overseeing the daily operations of the Event Services Department. This includes leadership and support for Banquets, Catering & Convention Services (C&CS), Convention Services Floor, and Banquet Beverage teams. The Banquet Manager partners closely with all hotel departments to ensure consistent, successful event execution and an exceptional guest experience. **Key Responsibilities** **Leadership & Operations** + Lead, supervise, coach, and motivate the Banquets team—including captains, servers, and lead house attendants—to achieve outstanding guest service and strong associate engagement. + Support and oversee the Events Department while actively partnering with the Director of Food & Beverage and other hotel leaders. + Provide leadership across Banquets, Convention Services Set‑Up, and Banquet Beverage operations. + Conduct daily walk‑throughs of all function spaces, service areas, and storerooms to ensure adherence to Hyatt standards and Department of Health regulations. **Event Execution** + Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to ensure clear communication and flawless execution of meeting and event requirements. + Ensure timely, accurate setup of all events while maintaining Hyatt standards for food, beverage, décor, safety, and service. + Collaborate closely with Culinary, Stewarding, Catering/Convention Services, Convention Services Floor, and Beverage teams to ensure seamless event delivery. + Proactively evaluate staffing levels, equipment needs, and resource allocation for all upcoming events. + Maintain a high‑energy, positive, and professional presence at all times. **Creativity & Innovation** + Develop innovative event concepts, décor solutions, and creative enhancements to elevate the guest experience. + Contribute ideas and execution plans for seasonal events, holidays, and resort‑wide special functions. **Training & Culture** + Build and sustain a service‑focused environment through effective hiring, coaching, training, development, and recognition. + Ensure consistent reinforcement of Hyatt service standards and operational excellence. **Administrative & Financial Responsibilities** + Conduct payroll, inventory management, reporting, forecasting, and budget‑related tasks for Banquets and Event Services. + Administer point‑of‑sale procedures and maintain accurate financial and operational records. **Qualifications:** **Qualifications** + Full‑time management role requiring schedule flexibility, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts. + Genuine desire to anticipate guest needs and thrive in a fast‑paced environment. + Strong verbal and written communication skills. + Proficiency with general computer systems and event‑related platforms. + Highly creative, detail‑oriented, organized, and innovative. + Hotel experience required, with a comprehensive understanding of banquet service operations. + Previous management or supervisory experience in Event Services (Manager, Assistant Manager, Captain, or Supervisor) preferred. + Demonstrated strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leadership, team development, and exceptional customer service delivery. **Physical Requirements** + Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including during long event shifts. + Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry items up to **50 pounds** (e.g., banquet tables, chairs, linens, décor items, service equipment). + Ability to bend, reach, climb, stoop, and perform repetitive motions related to event setup and oversight. + Ability to visually inspect event areas, read BEOs, and monitor service quality. + Ability to verbally communicate with guests and staff in a fast‑paced environment. **Work Environment** + Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor settings, including banquet rooms, kitchens, storage areas, and event venues across resort grounds. + Exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and noise levels depending on event location and season. + Role involves moderate to high levels of physical activity, guest interaction, and operational decision‑making. **Position Expectations** + Must be able to work flexible schedules including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays to support event operations. + Must maintain professionalism under pressure while managing multiple tasks and guest needs simultaneously. **_All qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status._** **Primary Location:** US-SC-Isle of Palms **Organization:** Wild Dunes Resort **Pay Basis:** Yearly **Job Level:** Full-time **Job:** Food and Beverage **Req ID:** ISL001810 Hyatt is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer.
