Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Banquet & Events Manager to join our team in Gaborone, Botswana. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of banquet and event operations, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, and leading a dedicated team of professionals.

Plan, coordinate, and execute a wide range of events, including weddings, corporate functions, and social gatheringsManage and motivate a team of banquet and event staff, ensuring high standards of service and professionalismDevelop and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal departmentsCreate and manage event budgets, ensuring financial targets are metCollaborate with the culinary team to design innovative and appealing menu optionsOversee the setup and breakdown of event spaces, ensuring all details meet client specificationsHandle client inquiries, conduct site visits, and prepare detailed event proposalsImplement and maintain health and safety standards in compliance with local regulationsAnalyze event feedback and implement improvements to enhance overall guest satisfactionStay current with industry trends and incorporate new ideas to elevate the event experience

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, or a related field3-5 years of experience in banquet and event management, preferably in the hospitality or hotel industryProven track record of successfully planning and executing large-scale eventsStrong leadership and team management skillsExcellent customer service and interpersonal skillsProficiency in event planning software and Microsoft Office SuiteSolid understanding of budgeting and financial managementExperience in menu planning and working with culinary teamsStrong problem-solving abilities and attention to detailExcellent time management and organizational skillsKnowledge of local and international cuisine, as well as cultural customs and etiquetteFamiliarity with health and safety regulations in the hospitality industryCertifications in event planning or hospitality management (preferred)Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
