Job Title: Band Saw Operator

Job Description

The band saw operator will work on the production floor in a dynamic role supporting the welding and machinist facilities. This position involves moving materials such as pipes and raw metal, collaborating with the welding team, operating a band saw machine, driving a sit-down forklift, and performing general cleanup duties. The role is primarily focused on operating a vertical band saw for angle cuts, with other tasks making up a smaller portion of the workload. The operator will read and interpret prints and bill of material orders while working with standard structural steel components.

Essential Skills

Experience operating power tools and machines in a manufacturing environment.At least 1 year of experience in a general labor role within the manufacturing, oil and gas, or metal industry.Proficiency in operating a band saw for angle cuts.Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.Skill in reading and interpreting blueprints.

Work Environment

The facility is located in SE Calgary. The shop operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, with overtime available after 8 hours of work in a day. Please note that this role is not accessible by public transit.
