JOB SUMMARY:
Under
the Bakery Manager’s supervision, a Baker prepares, and bakes high volume
bakery products using standardized recipes and performs other related
preparation and sanitation duties as required. Must
be able to work a variety of hours including nights and weekends. Must be able to perform heavy lifting.
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:
There
are three different sets of baking tasks for the Baker position that vary
depending upon the shift. The shift will determine the tasks performed and the
specific items to be baked. A bakery production spreadsheet is provided by the
Bakery Manager. The Baker will begin their shift by obtaining the necessary
ingredients for the designated items to be baked. The ingredients are both
stacked against the side wall of the bakery as well as in the refrigerator
unit. Once all items are obtained, they are prepared accordingly. The items are
then properly mixed using large mixers. They are taken from the mixers and
placed on to metal baking sheets. The sheets are then placed into the oven. The
baker will also help customers and assist other bakery staff.
