Responsibilities:
Oversee department targets and controls, monitor shift operations and productivity. Maximize the efficiency of the department and ensure daily production plan targets are available for Operations.Ensure effective communications at all levels and complete all necessary administrative work.Actively resolve problems team members raise to you. Provide positive feedback and constructive criticism to help build their confidence and to develop their skills.Direct supervisors with respect to production volume, quality, cost and meeting production schedules and delivery dates. Train and develop supervisors to provide management depth and develop teamwork to attain department objectives. Review daily production schedule to plan work and personnel assignments.Ensure compliance with Technical and Quality standards as identified on Product Specifications, to isolate and address any non-conformances and monitor measures designed to maintain and improve standards within the department.Monitor and confirm that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized. Maintain good employee relations and adherence to labor contract provisions.Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent requiredMinimum 5 years supervisory experience in processing plant industryAbility to oversee entire Bacon floor production, possessing extensive knowledge and technical skill in a variety of production jobsExtensive knowledge of productAbility to effectively communicate, both written and verbally. Interaction with USDA and Union is expectedAbility to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift as necessaryBi-lingual helpful, but not requiredStrong attendance and safety records
